New Spirit Community Church happens because people have an opportunity to contribute their ideas, talents, spirit, and time.
The following ministry teams are the vehicles for volunteering.
Board of Directors Task Forces
Some task forces will be established to work on specific time-limited projects in tandem with the Board of Directors. These includea Development group to help with fund-raising, including our annual stewardship campaign, and a Building Task Force to study options

Children's Ministry
Design, implement, and staff our programs for children. This includes helping to coordinate children's participation in worship,and leading and coordinating Children's Church. Contact the church office at 510.704.7729.

Caring Ministry
Assist in keeping track of and meeting the special needs of congregants. This includes the prayerteams, phone calls, hospital/home visits, cards, organizing Fellowship Groups, etc.

Hospitality
Insure a warm, hospitable environment for building community after worship service by
providing for refreshments and information about our church. Contact Kim Hraca or
Andy Schoenwetter at the church office.
Marketing/Outreach
Help us get the word out about New Spirit! Contact Richard Brabham.Music
Provide music for Sunday and Wednesday worship services. This includes voice and instument. Help set-up microphones,speakers, run the sound board, and lighting system for our worship services. Call Jack Hoggatt, Interim Music Director,

Welcome Ministry
Host Newcomer Orientations, ensure that new attendees feel welcome at services, and assist newcomers in finding communityat New Spirit. Volunteers are needed to: invite new people to orientations, help set up and cleanup at orientations, and get to

Social Justice Activism
Work with our Social Justice Team to identify ways in which we can help make our surrounding communities and the world betterplaces for all. For information about the supportive role New Spirit plays at YEAH! (Youth Emergency Assitance Hostel), and
at the Mother of Peace Orphanage in Zimbabwe, e-mail Joya Heart.
Special Events
Work with individuals and communities to raise awareness of New Spirit Community Church, and to provide opportunitiesfor congregants to participate in local activities. Call the office at 510.704.7729.

Web Team
Develop a visually pleasing website. Maintain current information on the site including sermons and videos.Call or e-mail the church office if you have computer and/or web
knowledge and wish to contribute to a heavily used facet of New Spirit programming.
Worship Space
Enrich the worship experience of our community through visual art (banners, altar cloths, etc.) and spacepresentation (setting up, arranging, and breaking down worship space). Contact Dick Sharpnack

Worship Support
